5 Reasons Why Your (Home)Work Will Suffer From Now to December

The dark is upon us once more, my friends.

The season of clueless interns, terribly catch music, and binge watching 'How I Met Your Mother' into the wee hours of the morning is nearing it's inevitable end. In a few weeks we'll all be back to the hustle and bustle of a slightly busier life. No more getting those interns to do your work for you and no more study-less nights. Depressing right? Well have no fear! Fall entertainment is here and it's so good that whatever work you do, be it for your career or for that guy or girl you like in your biology class, will probably suffer as a result. There's just too many good things ahead for you to "remain focused" or whatever term they use now to describe productivity.

Fall is coming.

1. DC Comics' TV Takeover

'Arrow' was just the tip of the iceberg for DC Comics. With season 2 having wrapped up earlier this year, season 3 is expected to debut Wednesday, October 8 on The CW. Fans of the series (me included) will be putting off whatever they have to do to catch the premiere, eagerly awaiting to have their burning questions answered as a result of the season 2 finale (OliCity woo!!!). As a result of the success of 'Arrow', DC Comics has three more superheroes coming to your screen. Yup. Three. ''The Flash' (October 7th on The CW), 'Constantine' (October 24th on NBC) and 'Gotham' (September 22nd on FOX) will all be coming your way and as you can see, they're all right around the corner. At least Mondays are going to get a bit better. Goodbye productivity!

2. 'Doctor Who: Season 8'

Whovians rejoice! Doctor Who will be back on August 24th (but you knew that already) and this time with a new, and older, face. Peter Capaldi is the Twelth Doctor and rumor has it that the Doctor's now all grown up and darker than ever. If it's true then that means this will be shaping up to be quite the unique season. I'm looking forward to seeing my old friends, the Daleks again. EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINAAAAATE!

3. 'Interstellar'

As Christopher Nolan's biggest fan, it is my duty to inform you all about the upcoming masterpiece potential-movie-of-the-year 'Interstellar' coming to theaters on November 7th. 'Insterstellar', starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, follows a group of ambitious explorers who attempt to push the boundaries of human potential and how humans travel through space by utilizing a wormhole they found. I'll admit, for the time being the plot sounds pretty bland and the trailer leaves a lot of questions that have yet to be answered, but I think that's what will make this movie a hit. Rumor has it that Nolan describes this as "his biggest film yet", so a lot is riding on this due to the success of Nolan's other works such as 'Inception' and 'The Dark Knight' movies but I'll banking on 'Interstellar' to be one of 2014's best movies. Guess who won't be working late that night. This guy!

4. 'The Walking Dead': Season 5

While 'The Walking Dead' may not be the best show on television (by a long shot), fans of the television series are patiently sitting in wait for the highly anticipated fifth season, which starts on October 12th. Last season had quite a few surprises and ended up putting Rick and his merry gang of zombie warriors in quite possibly the most hopeless position they've been in all show: Terminus. What was once thought to be a sanctuary for those escaping the evils of the zombie apocalypse, turned out to be a cult-like closed civilization of survivors who are only looking to protect themselves from anyone and anything that presents any sort of danger. If you're not a follower or fan of the series and want to catch up, now is your chance to catch up. 'The Walking Dead' has many things wrong with it but I'll give it credit for being easy to pickup and follow. You don't even need to binge-watch the last 4 seasons really, just look up some summaries and watch a few of the important episodes and you'll be good as gold.

5. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part 1)

'The Hunger Games' film series has picked up quite a bit of momentum between the first film and now. Not only has the quality of the films increased tremendously since Francis Lawrence signed on, it arguably showcased the best movie trailers and teasers of 2014, sending chills down the spines of those who hold their allegiance to these book adaptations on the silver screen. A year after the success of 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part 1)' is shaping up to be yet another success, especially with the recent death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. There isn't much else to say except that I will be blowing off whatever mound of homework I have to see my wife Jennifer Lawrence and my other wife Natalie Dormer dominate the box office alongside other huge stars.

Well there you have it! There's way, way more coming out for the remainder of the year but I chose 5 of the best. Don't plan on getting much homework or reports done, these are too good to pass up.

Happy Fall everyone, and may the on-screen entertainment be ever in your favor!
